Math Masters is a program designed for 5th and 6th grade students. The program challenges students to use critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities in mathematics, while recognizing academic effort and achievement. Ashby Sixth grade Math Masters competed on Friday, March 4, 2016 in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, where sixth grader Evan Paulson took second place out of 93 competitors. Members of the team were Max Gronwold, Jacob Cook, Sam Heeter, Evan Paulson, Carter Spangler.The 5th grade Math Masters competed in Alexandria, MN on Friday, April 22, 2016. The team placed 26 of 38 teams. The team members were: Emma Erickson, Livy Johnson, Maddison Burak, Brodie Ecker, Ethan Johnsrud, and alternate Ryleigh Brendemoen. Brodie Ecker scored in the top 30% in the math facts and Livy Johnson scored in the top 30% for math problems.
