Ashby Public School is teaming up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society’s (LLS) Pennies for Patients Program to raise awareness and funds in honor of thousands of children and adults fighting against blood cancers. To raise funds locally, the Ashby National Honor Society has organized a Penny War which was held throughout the week of Jan. 22-26. Students in grades K-12 were encouraged to bring in pennies and other change to donate to this worthy cause. As an added incentive, grades were divided into teams, and the team with the most points at the end of the week will receive a Rootbeer Float Party! Second place will receive a candy treat.
As a school our goal was to raise $750 to donate to the LLS.
Wow! We raised $1568.44!!
