The School Board of District 261 met in regular session on July 20, 2009 in the Media Center of the School. Chairman LaRue called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM with members Hoff, Johnson, LaRue, Nelson, Rylander, Spangler, and Wing present. Also present were Superintendent Allan Jensen, Principal Tom Otte, Renee Melby, and Ryan Risbrudt. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Nelson moved to approve the amended agenda, seconded by Wing. MCU. Rylander moved to approve the following consent agenda:
Communication/Delegations Thank you from Mrs. Zieman was read for the Board support of the High Potential Program over the past 19 years. Board Reports Nelson gave a report on Region I. Wing gave a report on Fergus Falls Special Ed Coop and Ashby Education Foundation. LaRue gave a report on the cost per ADM ranking compared to area schools. Principal’s Report
Nelson made a motion to approve the Athletic Handbook and Student Handbook changes. Johnson seconded. MCU.

Ryan Risbrudt gave a report on 6th Grade. Discussion Items MSBA Summer Seminar will be held August 12, 13, 14 in Brooklyn Park. There was no interest in the MSBA Delegate Assembly Nomination. Action Items Wing made a motion to approve the 2009-2010 Health and Safety Attachment 99. Spangler seconded. MCU. Nelson made a motion to approve membership in MSBA, MASSP, and MASA for 2009-2010. Nelson made a motion to set prices and policy at the following: Admission Prices: Adults $5.00, Students $3.00, Seniors(60+) free. Season passes: Fall: Family $40, Adult $30, Student $20. Winter: Family $50, Adult $40, Student $20. Activity fees: Grades 9-12 $50.00/activity, Grades 7-8 $25.00/activity. Family maximum $200.00/year. Nelson introduced Resolution 10.01 announcing availability of 6/7 FTE grades 7-12 Social Studies position and reinstatement rights . Wing seconded.
