July 19, 2007 The School Board of District 261 met in regular session on July 19, 2007 in the Media Center of the School. Chairman Rylander called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM with members Graham, LaRue, Nelson, Risbrudt, Rylander, and Wing present. Absent: Bestul. Also present were Allan Jensen, Tom Otte, Renee Melby, and Ryan Bartosiewksi. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Mr. Nelson moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Mrs. Wing. MCU. Mrs. Graham moved to approve the following consent agenda:

Ryan Bartosiewski gave a presentation on the High School Physical Education, High School Health, and the K-3 Elementary Physical Education Programs. Discussion Items Minnesota School Board Association Summer Seminar is August 15, 16, 17 in Minneapolis. There are no Board Members that plan to attend. Mr. Nelson made a motion to seek a contract with Park Region Telephone/Gardonville Telephone for the Educational Broadband Service License Lease for $600.00 per month for 30 years. Mr. LaRue seconded. MCU. Mrs. Graham made a motion to hire Marceia Andreasen as Athletic Director. Mrs. Wing seconded. MCU. Action Items Mr. Risbrudt made a motion to hire Dustin Steenblock as Ag Instructor. Mr. LaRue seconded. MCU. Mr. LaRue made a motion to accept the Health and Safety Attachment 99. Mrs. Graham seconded. MCU. Mr. Nelson made a motion to approve membership in Minnesota School Board Association, Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals, and Minnesota Association of School Administrators. Mrs. Wing seconded. MCU. Mrs. Wing made a motion to approve the Grant Stevens Traverse Public Health Contract for 2007-2008. Mrs. Graham seconded. MCU. Mr. LaRue made a motion to set ala carte milk price at $ .25 per carton and to develop a break even milk break charge for grades 1-6. Mr. Nelson seconded. MCU. Bids received for milk: Kemps: Esc. Firm 1/2 pint whole milk .231 .241 1/2 pint 2% milk .220 .232 1/2 pint skim milk .204 .214 1/2 pint chocolate skim .211 .221 6 oz. orange juice .240 Mr. LaRue made a motion to accept the escalating bid from Kemps for dairy products. Mrs. Graham seconded. MCU. Bids received for fuel for vehicles: Ashby Equity Assoc.: Gasoline: $.05 per gallon under pump price Diesel: $.05 per gallon under pump price Oil: $2.15 per quart Dahlen’s Short Stop: Gasoline: $.02 gallon under pump price. Mr. LaRue made a motion to accept the gasoline and diesel bid from Ashby Equity Association. Mrs. Wing seconded. MCU Bids received for vehicle maintenance: Ashby Equity Association: Large vehicles: Grease job $9.00, maintenance $17.00/hour, oil $2.15/quart. Small vehicles: Grease job $7.00, maintenance $17.00/hour, oil $2.15/quart. Trailside Auto: Large vehicles: Grease job $9.00, maintenance $27.50/hour, oil $2.00/quart. Small vehicle: Grease job $8.00, maintenance $27.50/hour, oil $2.00/quart. Mrs. Graham made a motion to accept the bid from Ashby Equity. Mr. LaRue seconded.
