Knowledge Bowl is a group of questions and answers on all topics. AHS Knowledge Bowl teams are made up of junior high students in grades 7 and 8 and senior high students in grades 9-12. Junior high season runs through the fall and the senior high season is in the winter. Participants study a large range of academic subjects plus learn to work in teams for the competitions.
The competition is usually played with a lockout buzzer system between a number of teams, usually two teams of four or five players each. A moderator reads questions to the teams, whose players try to buzz in first with the correct answer, scoring points for their team.
