What a Wonderful World Good morning Arrows - It is time for another drawing of the Arrow Pride Award Winner. Having a positive mindset doesn’t only apply to academics. Though we tend to focus on academics at school, we also want you to view life and the opportunities around you with a positive outlook as well. Though life can present hardships, daily stressors, and frustrating experiences, we also know that having a positive view of yourself and your life’s circumstances will help you deal with obstacles as they present themselves as well as having better physical health as well. Medical professionals have also seen the link between your life and your attitude. In a recent article from John Hopkins Medine, an author noted many positives health benefits that also come from having a positive outlook on life: Even though we aren’t all born with a sunny disposition, there are things you can do to not only change your day but ultimately help you lead a healthier happier life in and outside of school. Simply smile more. A University of Kansas study found that smiling—even fake smiling—reduces heart rate and blood pressure during stressful situations. So try a few minutes of YouTube humor therapy when you’re stomping your feet waiting in line or fuming over a work or family situation. It’s difficult not to smile while watching a favorite funny video. Practice Reframing. Instead of stressing about an upcoming test, problems with friends or the Vikings recent loss to the 49ers, spend a few extra minutes listening to music or watching a funny video, accepting that there is absolutely nothing you can do about the Vikings ability to pull through during a big game. Build resiliency. Resiliency is the ability to adapt to stressful and/or negative situations and losses. Experts recommend these key ways to build yours:

When you hear your name called, please come down to the office to pick your reward for your efforts in living and working the Arrow Way.
