The School Board of District 261 met in regular session on July 18, 2011 in the Media Center of the School. Chair Wing called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM with members Hoff, Johnson, Nelson, Rylander, Spangler, Van Santen, and Wing present. Also present were Superintendent Allan Jensen, and Renee Melby.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Nelson moved to approve the agenda, Rylander seconded. MCU.
Nelson moved to approve the following consent agenda:
Nelson reported on Region 1 and Lakes Country Service Coop.
Johnson gave a Legislative update.
Wing reported on Fergus Falls Special Ed Coop and Ashby Education Foundation.
Mr. Jensen reported on the following:
Mr. Knick joined the meeting at 6:50 pm.
Mr. Knick gave a report on the Summer Weight Training Program, Basketball Camp, and the Elementary Learning Garden. All of which have been very successful.
MSBA Summer Seminar will be held August 7-9th. Member Johnson plans to attend Monday August 8th.
Nelson made a motion to approve the Health and Safety Program Revenue Application Attachment 10. Van Santen seconded. MCU.
Van Santen made a motion to approve membership in MSBA, MASSP, and MASA. Nelson seconded. MCU.
Johnson made a motion to increase student lunch fees $.10 per State mandate and the other fees to remain the same as follows:
Admission Prices: Adults $5.00, Students $3.00, Seniors $3.00.
Season passes: Fall: Family $40, Adult $30, Student $20, Seniors $20.
Winter: Family $50, Adult $40, Student $20, Seniors $20.
Activity fees: Grades 9-12 $50.00/activity, Grades 7-8 $25.00/activity.
Family maximum $200.00/year.
Drivers Ed: Classroom $75.00, Behind the Wheel $200.00
Elementary Students $1.75 Students $0.85
High School Student $1.90 Adults $1.70
Reduced K-12 $0.40
Ala Carte $1.00
Extra Milk $0.30

Rylander made a motion to approve the 2011-12 Principal Contract for Peter Remboldt. Johnson seconded. MCU.
Johnson introduced resolution No. 12.01 announcing availability of 6/7 FTE grades 7-12 Social Studies position and reinstatement rights. Van Santen seconded. Roll call vote: Rylander-yes, Spangler-yes, Van Santen-yes, Nelson-yes, Johnson-yes, Hoff-yes, Wing-yes. MCU.
